I became a trainer while at University studying English Lit. 6 years later I never thought I’d be coaching people to snatch and muscle-up instead of teaching a classroom of kids about Charles Dickens…

I’ve always enjoyed being active, doing kickboxing and playing basketball at school, although didn’t get into weight training until my early 20s; in fact my first gym membership was the gym I worked at for 2 years before moving to Australia. In Australia I didn’t know anyone and wanted to try something different. I started going to gymnastics classes twice a week and joined a weightlifting club. There I made some new friends and gained an appreciation for the sports.  

Coming home after a year I was hugely influenced by the people I’d met and the skills I’d learned. I started to integrate this into training clients back in London and the feedback was amazing. The most noticeable improvement wasn’t actually physical; clients were happier about coming to the gym because the training was more interesting and fun and they were no longer basing success on what they saw in the mirror or read on the scales. 

This style of training has changed my life. Qualifying to teach calisthenics, learning about movement and weightlifting from some of the best coaches in the world, including London 2012 Olympic Gold Medalist, Oleksiy Torokhtiy, has completely transformed my perception of what it means to be “fit and healthy”. There’s always something new to learn, benefits to gain both in and outside of training and different ways to use the strength, mobility and skills you earn from training at IN MOTION.

Calisthenics Coach & Weight Management Specialist

From spending hundreds of hours attached to the cross-trainer in my uni dorm, to cracking the ceiling (don’t ask) in my quest towards the Men’s Health “perfect body”, I finally embarked on the intimidating, sometimes treacherous journey to the wilderness of the local gym… 

As a beginner, I had bad form (think half-rep bicep curls and hump back deadlifts) and no knowledge of proper nutrition (LOTS of rice and belly pork, yum). I wasn’t getting where I wanted to be, despite the hours on the cross-trainer.

Becoming a Personal Trainer I learned a lot. I soon realised why I wasn’t making the progress I was working towards (mainly the rice and pork belly!) and how the mistakes in form I was making could cause serious injury. After re-educating myself and understanding where I was going wrong I was able to help others. Helping people reach their fitness and weight loss goals led me to new ones - I no longer spend hours on a monotonous machine, chasing someone else’s idea of fitness.

I have been fortunate to meet and work with many inspiring people in the fitness industry, which has taken me on a different journey, off the cross-trainer and even outside the gym! The quest to master body control with amazing techniques, increase overall strength and mobility, all of which has led to the creation of IN MOTION. I've come a long way, you can too, while avoiding my mistakes and time on the cross-trainer!

Gymnastics & Pilates Instructor & Lower Back Pain Specialist

I’ve been in the fitness industry for the past 5 years but my passion for movement started long before that when I trained gymnastics in Italy.

My background in gymnastics has taught me the importance of body awareness, mobility and correct muscle activation when trying to build strength and overcome weaknesses. My passion has lead me towards Pilates and corrective exercise training to support people in the best way possible, helping them to achieve their fitness and lifestyle aspirations.

I love to see people shine as brightly and as confidently as they possibly can and l enjoy working closely with them so that they feel supported and motivated. I recognise that everyone is individual, on their own journey and requires a personal approach in order to achieve the goals they set.

No matter where you start from, l can help get you where you want to go. Guiding you through training programmes, health and fitness development, diet and lifestyle. I have worked with Mal and Will for years and I’m happy to be part of the IN MOTION team!
